There are many Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) design challenges. The aircraft requires significantly higher voltages and power. eVTOL systems need to operate in harsh environments withy shock and vibration and be ready for frequent maintenance and inspection. The inside of the aircraft has to be manufactured using materials that are rated smoke, flammability and toxicity free. An eVTOL’s weight is another challenge. Discharged batteries are dean weight and EWIS engineers need to select the lightest connectivity components. Ethernet is used in aviation applications for passenger connectivity, lighting control, cabin interior, and more. Ethernet is the basis for the commercial-aviation data network standard—the Avionics Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet (AFDX) implementation of the ARINC 664 part 7 standard. Count on Powell for all your eVTOL components from power and charging connectors, cable management as well as ethernet and RF solutions.
Since satellites in space cannot simply be taken to a repair shop, the extreme specialization of each application must be done with meticulous accuracy.
